European Union

Organic production in the European Union is regulated by the Regulation: Regulation (EU) 2018/848, which put out of application the legal framework Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/07 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 889/08.
The European Parliament adopted the new EU legal framework in the field of organic production on April 19, 2018.
Regulation (EU) 2018/848 entered into force on January 1, 2022.
